The warning by Windows that the audio service is not running is not that alarming because it indicates that service responsible for delivering sound is stopped and can not be turned on automatically but manually there are ways that people can use to turn it on.

First of all to rectify this problem we need to know the root cause of the problem which probably is improper status of the window audio service which is either failing to start automatically or is being interrupted for some reason or the problem is one or more of its dependencies.

Many have tried the method of restarting their PC’s but that’s very much frustrating that in between you are getting a warning of the audio not working and here you go again to restart your computer to address the problem.

This for sure is not the solution and rebooting the system is also not the solution as how many times in a day you can do that.

So what we can do is that change the log on setting:

Step 1: Press “Windows” + “R” to open the Run prompt.

Step 2: Type in “Services.msc” and press “enter”.

Step 3: Navigate down and right-click on the “Windows Audio” service.

Step 4: Click on the “Log on” tab and select the “Local System Account” option instead of the “This Account” option.

Step 5: Check to see if the issue persists.

Step 6: If it does, check the “This Account” option and type in “Local Service” in the text box.

Step 7: After that, type any password in the password and confirm password fields as it really doesn’t matter.

Step 8: Click on “Apply” and then on “OK”.
