The Audio Service is Not Running Windows 10 [SOLVED]

Well, you are not alone if you also are addressing this same problem of Windows 10 that the audio service is not running. Visuals without audio are just like a river without water. Many Window users are reporting the same problem of audio service is not running.

Method 1: Simply Increase or Decrease The Volume Of The Computer

Sound ridiculously easy but is very effective method indeed. A lot of people have just increased and decreased their computer volume and are free of any kind of audio issues.

Step 1: First of all on the taskbar click the sound icon this is the one which has red X on it due to this problem. A little volume slider will appear which can be used to adjust the computer’s volume.

Step 2: The volume slider that appears maximizes or minimize the volume and if done even by slightest then the red X will disappear and the problem is eradicated completely.

Even if by doing so you are getting the same problem then there is no need to worry there are two more authentic methods to avoid this problem.

Method 2: Restart The Windows Audio Service And All Of Its Dependencies

In this method the Windows audio service has to be started along with its two dependencies out of its three and make sure all three are on automatic start configuration.

Step 1: Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type services.msc in the run dialog.

Step 2: One by one, locate and double-click on the following services, and then set their Startup type to Automatic.

Step 3: Right-click on the following services, and then click on Restart in the resulting context menus.

After you have followed these steps the red X will disappear and no longer the audio service interruptions will annoy you.

Method 3: Changing Log-On Settings

There have been instances where the services might be allowed to log on to a particular account on the computer but they might not be configured to log on for your particular user account.

So what we can do is that change the log on setting:

Step 1: Press “Windows” + “R” to open the Run prompt.

Step 2: Type in “Services.msc” and press “enter”.

Step 3: Navigate down and right-click on the “Windows Audio” service.

Step 4: Click on the “Log on” tab and select the “Local System Account” option instead of the “This Account” option.

Step 5: Check to see if the issue persists.

Step 6: If it does, check the “This Account” option and type in “Local Service” in the text box.

Step 7: After that, type any password in the password and confirm password fields as it really doesn’t matter.

Step 8: Click on “Apply” and then on “OK”.

This will certainly help you to get rid of this problem.
