Method 3: Run System File Checker (SFC) and Check Disk (CHKDSK)
STEP-I
Go to command prompt option as mentioned above.

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
chkdsk C: /f /r /x
Note: Kindly ensure that you use the drive letter where the Windows is currently installed.
In the above command C: is the drive on which we want to run check disk, /f refers to a flag which check disk seeks the permission to rectify any errors associated with the drive, /r possess the feature to allow check disk to search for bad sectors and perform recovery and /x gives the command to the check disk to dismount the drive before initiating the process.
STEP-III
Exit the window and restart your computer.

Method 4: Perform A System Restore
STEP-I
Attach System Repair Disc/recovery drive or windows installation media and select language preference. Click next and now hit the repair your computer button.
